ALICIA MARGARITA DE LIMA ESPINAL
Alicia was born under the sign of Pisces in the island of Trinidad (West Indies). Her childhood was full of beautiful memories of outdoor living. From her mother she learnt to observe birds, trees, flowers, also her sensibility for music, to enjoy of the sea and fishing, and to make an art out of housework. From her father she inherited the gift of happiness, his playful spirit and the ability of making wise decisions.
During her adolescence she went to school in Trinidad and in England, was outstanding in the arts of painting and singing which gave her an acute awareness of vibrations of light, colour and sound.
When she was quite young she developed a special talent for singing, dancing and handicrafts, of which painting was her favourite delight.
During past years she has dedicated part of her time to becoming acquainted with watercolours where she discovered a magic-erotic feeling in the subtlety offered by the watercolouring technique and also has discovered this particular form to communicate with you and the whole world, flowing in the same field with colour in her understanding and communication with the environment.
Alicia feels the urge to go beyond the traditional technique of watercolour. She transmits on and through paper/canvas her investigations from the readings of J. Krishnamurti also her paint brushes just flow and vibrate instantly and timelessly in the present, synthesizing the true comprehension of life in her works of watercolour. Through her hands flow freedom which leads us to understand our existence, also the reasons for sharing this planet, which are always being reflected in her art. Watercolour is the means that Alicia has found a perfect way of life, enabling her to understand the world and her own self.
Alicia is a generous person. She is a good listener so one generally confides in her. She is a wise person and happy to share her wisdom with others.
